Entire Venue at Screwdriver Bar
About this space
A historic rock n roll basement bar located right in downtown Seattle. Bar/event space located between the Space Needle and Pike Place Market. The space was previously a grunge-era recording studio/rehearsal space with tenants including Nirvana in the late 1980s / early 1990s. From 1991 on the space remained dormant until we opened in 2016 but the charm, mystique, and history remain.2 rooms offer 2 full bars, a stage for live music/karaoke /DJs with booth and high-top seating. A lifetime's worth of priceless authentic music memorabilia, records, and artifacts adorn the walls and ceilings. About Screwdriver Bar
We started in 2018 in the basement of the historic Barnes Building, right in the heart of Seattle's Belltown neighborhood. This space used to be a recording studio and rehearsal spot for famous grunge bands like Nirvana in the late 1980s and early 1990s. After sitting empty for years, we reopened in 2016, keeping its original charm and history.
Since then, Screwdriver Bar has welcomed musicians from all over the world, from Grammy winners to brand-new performers. We’re proud to be part of Seattle’s music scene and offer a safe, welcoming space for both artists and guests.
By visiting us, you help keep live music alive and support small businesses and community events. Whether you’re here for a show or planning a special event, we invite you to be part of our history!
