About this space
StudioLab RD is housed in a sun-filled, two-story historic row home in Georgetown, Washington, DC. The studio's street level encompasses a cozy lounge area with exposed brick and comfy furniture where visitors can browse available art on the wall and shelves, flip through the library of art books, enjoy a cup of coffee, or all of the above.
Visitors are also invited upstairs to artist Robin Davisson's art studio to watch her at work —from testing ideas in her sketchbook and prepping canvases to mixing and applying paints and discerning the final touches on completed pieces.

About StudioLab RD
In an effort to demystify the art-making process, I have decided to open my studio to the public and offer an unfiltered, behind-the-scenes look at my process.
I invite anyone who is interested to visit the upstairs of my sun-filled, Georgetown, Washington DC studio and watch me work—from sketching ideas and prepping canvases to mixing and applying paints and putting the final touches on completed pieces. The studio’s street level houses a cozy lounge area with exposed brick and comfy furniture where you can browse available art, flip through my extensive library of art books, enjoy a cup of coffee, or all of the above.
Forget the hushed, “don’t touch” mentality of other art-centric spaces. At StudioLab, there will always be music playing, coffee roasting and creative energy flowing, which I hope will inspire you to either jump in and join me on my artistic journey or embark on one of your own.
But you don’t have to think of yourself as an artist to visit or enjoy StudioLab! In fact, I’m hopeful that those who don’t consider themselves creative (a frequent fallacy!) will discover their buried artistic spark inside my studio. With workshops, salons and other social gatherings, my aim with StudioLab is not only to create a community for local artists and creatives, but to also introduce a wider community to the art world at large.
