Situated in Rockville, Maryland, Timberlawn Estate is a historic place that becomes a great filming venue, ready to serve as an elegant backdrop to any recording or photo project. Just five minutes from the Washington DC metro service, this property provides a peaceful getaway without having to travel too far from the city. Built in 1918 by National Geographic funding Treasurer John Joy Edson, this property has also been home to Special Olympics founder Eunice Kennedy Shriver. Thanks to its rich history, this home is full of charm, lending its enchantment to interviews, series or movies.
Timberlawn Estate comprises a fairytale-like home nestled on nearly 59,000 square feet of lush green land. Producers and crews can enjoy the peace and privacy of the property.
The house itself has been renovated and remodeled to include luxurious wooden features, as well as central air conditioning and heating throughout. The Grand Room features cabin-style wooden interiors with french-arched windows overlooking the lawns whilst the Party Room has plenty of space for equipment and crews to settle. There is also a chef's kitchen perfect for catering. The property can accommodate up to 100 guests, with private parking available both on and off-site.
