I had a fantastic time celebrating my 19th birthday with my friends. Many of my friends expressed how much fun they had and how much they liked the venue. Below is a list of things I was very pleased with:
1. Staff. Nicoleta and Amy did an incredible job responding to my questions and requests quickly and comprehensively and they double-checked all the important details with me beforehand, which I really appreciated. The bartenders and the bouncer were also really friendly, polite and kind.
2. Cleanliness. Everything in the venue, including the bathrooms, were very clean (save the trestle table; see below).
3. Furniture & lighting. The couches and stools were comfortable and the smaller tables were a perfect size. The lighting in the room (red) was somewhat dim but fit the vibe perfectly. I also liked that there were a few mirrors in the room.
4. Value for money. The drinks packages for parties and the happy hour cocktail deals meant it was very good value for money, especially for such a central location near so many transport options. Also, they have very creative and interesting ways of serving cocktails and shots with cups and bats.
5. Amenities - garden & music. The bar has a little garden for a breath of fresh air which my friends appreciated. Also, the speaker can connect to your phone through bluetooth and not necessarily an aux cable. Even when our music was switched off, we could not hear the music playing in the main section of the bar.
Overall, my party was virtually hiccup-free and I would definitely book with Simmons (if not this very bar on Liverpool Street) for future parties!
These are quite minor things and did not impact my overall experience, but maybe will be useful to future clients.
1. Room smaller than advertised: on Tagvenue, it says the function room has a capacity of 60 people. Our party had 30 people and a trestle table, and could have fit a maximum of 7 more people without the room becoming incredibly crowded.
2. Lack of tablecloth: I was told there would be a tablecloth for the trestle table but on the day they said they had run out and the table was relatively dirty/dusty.
3. There was not much soap in the soap dispensers.
