From the booking process to leaving the venue after the event, the whole team were fantastic. As with most events, there were some amendments to the details along the way and they handled them so well. On the night, we could relax knowing our sound and lighting were looked after by such a professional team. The space was perfect for us, fitting in all of our attendees without feeling too cavernous. We loved the industrial vibes (and it wasn't cold in the dead of winter which was a bonus. We would 100% use the Anthony Burgess Foundation again, and I would urge you to do the same.

About The Burgess Foundation

The International Anthony Burgess Foundation is a unique venue within one of Manchester’s oldest mill buildings – plenty of brickwork akin to a New York comedy club – and houses Burgess’s own furniture and musical instruments to create a distinctive location for your event.

The room can seat up to 100 people, depending on how you want to set up, and has modern audio-visual facilities and excellent wi-fi. The venue is ideal for concerts, readings, conferences, launches, plays, workshops, away-days, lectures, film screenings, discussion and in-conversation events as well as receptions and soirees. Just turn up with your laptop, plugin and go — we have an experienced and friendly team who will help your event run with the minimum of fuss.

We also have a bar which is perfect for a relaxed location for your audience or guests before they move into the main venue. Drinks catering can be provided: tea & coffee, wine receptions and bar tabs. Although we don't offer food catering, we can recommend trusted local suppliers to suit all budgets.
