FAQs about Top Film and TV Studios in Manchester

Start your search for a film and tv studio in the city centre. You can find numerous options within Manchester’s inner ring in the historic districts of Spinningfields, Deansgate, and Piccadilly. Just outside the centre, you can find studios in Ancoats, near the Northern Quarter, or in the area around Bradford. A bit farther out of town, you can find larger studios in West Gorton and Salford

When hiring a film and tv studio, the price will depend on the size of the space and the duration of the hire. For a short-term hire of a blank canvas venue with a basic equipment package, expect to pay approximately £40 to £90 per hour. You can find hire options for a longer-term hire for approximately £700 to £1200 per day. (All data from Tagvenue.com)

A film and studio hire should come with some basic fit-out; this may include basic lighting rigs, monitors and extra space for hair and makeup. You should be able to work with the studio staff to hire extra equipment such as broadcast or cine equipment, as well as props and sets. These extras may be available from the studio itself for an extra fee, or you may need to hire them from an outside source. The studio may have a team of recommended vendors and a crew that you can hire for your shoot.

Booked Studio 3 (Natural Light) at The Photocove

The studio itself was a great space with a lot of natural light and options for different framing. Overall, each room was well kitted out with lots of additional stands, lights and reflectors available to use. The staff on location were incredibly helpful and welcoming.
